Compatibility:
What does it do?
It integrates the Yahoo Search Engine seamlessly into Joomla! With this Joomla!
Extension you can add the power of Yahoo Search directly into your website.
Search the web or just your own site, limit by country, show results in your native language,
spell check queries and filter out adult content. All these features are built into this one Extension.
Why would I want this?
This is one of most powerful site search extension for Joomla!
As long as your pages are indexed on Yahoo you have the full power of Yahoo search
term analysis and content recognition to help find what your visitors are looking for.
The Demo
This Extension speaks for it's self, and as you would expect from CapecodeHQ it's simple.
The images above show all the configuration that is required to add the power of Yahoo Search
directly into your Joomla installation. Because all the configuration is done within menu
options you can have several customized Yahoo powered searches all running from one Joomla installation.
How do I use it?
Create a new component Menu item, select 'Yahoo Web Search', fill in the options you want and save.
If you want to to search just your site enter your domain (e.g. joomla.org, www.capecodehq.com) into the 'Restrict to Domain' box. Simple.
For details about each option see below.
Page Class Suffix
This appends the content of the input box to the CSS 'class' names in the extension.
Page Title
This overrides the default 'Page Title' with the text in the input box.
Show Page Title
Controls if a 'Page Title' should be shown. Select 'Yes' or 'No' as required.
Restrict to Domain
If a domain is entered into the input box, searches will be limited to that domain.
For example 'joomla.org' or 'www.capecodehq.com'.
Use this if you wish to provide a site search service.
Restrict to Country
Select a country from the drop down list to restrict searches too. Only web pages from this country will searched.
Display Language
Select a language from the drop down list. Results will attempt to be writen in the that language.
Show Extra Info
Display the domain, cache size and link to the cached version under the search results (if available).
Select 'Yes' or 'No' as required.
Show Adult Content
Allow content deemed adult in nature to appear in the search results.
Select 'Yes' or 'No' as required.
Note about UTF-8
In order to accommodate multi-lingual results all content output by this extension is UTF-8 encoded.
This means your Joomla website must include a UTF-8 header in order to show some characters correctly.
